The Story Behind the Book Creation

We just completed the nine-day novena for Papa and Mama. I set out for my usual morning walk. My feet were definitely on the ground yet in some ways, it felt like they weren’t.

The past weeks had been turbulent, to say the least, from the time they were diagnosed with COVID-19 to their eventual passing two weeks later. We were devastated.

Yet, there was much to be thankful for. “As soon as the news broke, we were overwhelmed by the love and support from family and friends who helped in any way they could - finding a hospital, caregivers, PPEs…prayers, etc.” (Mercifully Redeemed, p. 187).

I thought to myself that God’s hidden mercies amid the perfect storm should be written in a book…I continued walking and put this thought aside.

A few days later, upon a friend’s invitation to participate in the launching of her first book, I felt nudged to be the one to write about God’s hidden mercies. This can’t be as this was never part of my plan!

Yet, after discerning, I embraced the call to write. Guided by the book Published. as recommended by my author-friend Mayette Talento-Casanova, I started writing on June 5th, 2021. A year and a half later on December 16th, 2022, the baby was born.

God has chosen each of us for a unique purpose. He plants the seed in our hearts and He nudges. When in doubt, remember this--God does not always choose the ablest but always enables those whom He chooses.
